Nestled among the picturesque mountains of South Coorg is KALS. They approached us to redo their identity, logo, signages and communication. For KALS, helping each child to know themselves better, unlock their own unique strengths, and hone their skills, through a differentiated approach combining sports and academics, is a daily commitment.

Challenge

Our goal was to develop a new identity and strategic direction for KALS, we needed to take forward their existing value system of “Go the distance”. The logo needed to best represent their key learnings which are physical education, knowledge and nature. The website’s look and feel needed to change for better, but keeping in-line with the core teachings of KALS.

Solution

In developing the strategic direction for KALS, a holistic school, we took forward their existing value system of “Go the distance” and built a universe around the principles of- Empowerment, Integrity, Perseverance and Goodness. The logo is a blend of 3 of the key learnings that KALS instills in their students, physical education, knowledge and the inclusion of nature and the environment in one’s growth. The colours are an extension of the passions and drive of the founders. The objective of the website design was to show clearly to the key users, parents, students and alumni, the dedication of the KALS team.

An empty shell of a partly constructed space on the top floor of a commercial property was transformed to look like an abandoned penthouse that has been vandalised. Sarjapur Social is also inspired by the Playboy penthouse created by Hugh Hefner.

he marble flooring, the retro furnishing, the fresco, the long winding staircase, the chandeliers hark back to a time when things were less rushed, with fewer distractions in the way.

This being the case, why should our stores toe the line? Which is why when it came to designing Wrogn’s new outlet at Lulu Mall, Cochin, we literally thought out of the box.

So, we treated boxy shipping containers as a visual metaphor for a brand that breaks out of the box. We then splashed them in yellow. Bright, bold and breaking free of all clutches. No constraints, no boundaries. We have a larger than life Virat throwing himself across the store ceiling. To ‘catch’ a falling container. Even our mannequins aren’t the dainty sort, standing quietly in a corner. We got this rebellious bunch flinging themselves across a container on its side.

So the olive green metal facade with meshed glass gives passersby a glimpse of the buzz within Onesta. These elements feature in the open kitchen, as well – a nod to the authentic manner in which pizzas are prepared. The olive green and red furniture are bright, simple and light, perfect for a relaxed meal with family and friends. The patterned tiles on the floor are customised, reflecting Onesta’s commitment to detail and quality.

The colourful lights on the ceiling manifest the cheerful mood that follows when people gather for pizza. Last but not the least, the walls have a story to tell. Literally. They tell the tale of all the authentic ingredients that come together to create delicious Italian pizza.

Our design for the new store at Lulu Mall, Cochin, reflects the brand’s inclusiveness and welcoming spirit. The store features a confident, bold design. Simplicity in form is complemented by the use of strong, stable materials like wood and metal.

The free-spirited attitude of the brand manifests itself via the mannequins that swing from the ceiling, rather than being rooted to the ground. A gold chandelier made of sinuous curved gold rods adds a dash of style to the design of the store.
